5 Questions! Volume 29: Reed Bentley STRONG STYLE REPOST
I interviewed a few of the gentlemen In this Thursday’s IWA Mid-South Rev strong Style Tournament. So to help with the hype I figured I’d put the interviews back up.
Welcome to the 29th edition of 5 Questions! This started out as just a crazy idea and has turned in to a really good way of getting to know a little bit about the guys and gals of the wrestling industry. These were never intended to be super in depth but they have always been informative and hopefully fun. Today we have one of my favorite guys on the independent scene.
Reed Bentley is an interesting guy. He’s this nice, affable human being outside the ring and inside it he may be clinically insane. The guys has had wars with some of the toughest human beings on the planet and yet still takes the time to take ridiculous graduation photos like the one above. Yin and Yang folks. He’s not good at intro’s apparently, so I’ll do it. He’s the 3 Time former IWA Mid-South World Champion, EPW Elite Champion, 2 time EPW Openweight Champion. Also with John Wayne Murdoch as The Rejects, they are the former IWA Mid-South and GCW Tag Team Champions. So, he’s pretty good at wrestling folks. Better at taking pictures, but good at wrestling too.
1: Who most influenced you to become a professional wrestler?
“Chris Hero, Mick Foley, Terry Funk and Sting (Venice Beach Bad Boy just as much as the Crow).”
2: What is your all time favorite match that you’ve been apart of?
“My favorite singles matches are my No Ropes Barb Wire matches with Tripp and JWM at subsequent Bloodfeast shows. And then my favorite tags have been the POTDM match with the Hooligans and our 2nd match against REL at IWA.”
3: If you could work for any promotion in wrestling history, what would it be?
“Probably for Piper in Portland or Puerto Rico in the Brody days. I’d have fit in a lot better haha.”
4: Is there a song that you LOVE that everyone else thinks is awful?
“Burnin’ Up by the Jonas Brothers is my fave guilty pleasure/annoy everyone else in the car road trip song.”
5: In your opinion, who is the greatest Professional Wrestler of all time?
“Shawn Michaels is hands down the best professional wrestler of all time in terms of ability to draw, perform, etc. Could do it all. Jerry Lawler is probably #2 but like he’s a rapist so fuck him and we’ll make Ric Flair #2.”
There we have it guys, another 5 Questions have come and gone.
