5 Questions! Volume 40: Joseph Schwartz
Welcome to the 40th edition of 5 Questions! Keep in mind, these were never intended to be super in depth, but they have always been informative and hopefully fun. It’s been cool getting to know a little bit about the minds of the good folks that put their bodies on the line to entertain us. Our next guest is a guy that has developed one of the more interesting wrestling gimmicks anywhere in the world.
If you have never seen Joseph or the Bomb Shelter you are doing yourself a major disservice. Not only are they a group of supertalented individuals but their gimmick has to be seen to be believed. In fact I’m sure they new I wrote that before I did, due to all the time traveling. It’s wild, crazy and I love every second of it. Let’s talk to the man that created this crazy world that makes Matt Hardy’s look sane. Joseph Schwartz.
1: Who most influenced you to become a professional wrestler?
“Initially Ric Flair and Chris Jericho. They really did it at first, Steve Austin as well as his Stone cold evolution is big too. Lately I am very influenced by Steve Corino, Matt Hardy (V1/Big Money/Woken and Broken), Delirious, and Les Kellett. I understand that’s a strange range, but I’m a strange cat.”
2: What is your all time favorite match that you’ve been apart of?
“Shigihero Irie hands down! UPW in Gladstone, Michigan. It was worth the 20 hour round trip. His energy is bar none the best in have ever felt in the universe.”
3: If you could work for any promotion in wrestling history, what would it be?
“WWE current day to be honest. It’s got a lot of options and I love the entertainment aspect of wrestling. I was one of the few that got excited when we got to be referred to as artists.”
4: Is there a song that you LOVE that everyone else thinks is awful?
“Yes… Shampoo – Trouble off the the original Power Rangers movie soundtrack. I feel no shame.”
5: In your opinion who is the greatest Professional Wrestler of all time?
“Jericho is the GOAT, and AJ Styles will eventually take that prestige in years to come. You can’t do as much in as many companies as Jericho, while bridging and being an ambassador for wrestling in general. Bless that man, he’s earned every drink he has.”
There we have it guys, another 5 Questions have come and gone.
