5 Questions! Volume 49: Ted Petty Invitational Edition w/Anthony Henry
These next few additions of 5 Questions are going to be a little different. They are all going to be with some of the competitors of this years big IWA Mid-South Ted Petty Invitational. One of the biggest tournaments of the Independent Wrestling Calendar is coming to Indianapolis and I wanted to get in some of these guys heads before we get there.
The second competitor that we were able to speak to was the 5th entrant into the big event, “The 5-Star King” Anthony Henry. He is also the very first 2-time guest here in 5 Questions, so if nothing else when I make up my own website Hall of Fame he is a first ballot guy. Back to the subject at hand. This is the second TPI for Anthony and to this day I have never seen a bad performance out of the man. The 5-star deal isn’t a gimmick, it’s a fact. Let’s get an idea of his thoughts going into his big first round match with Eddie Kingston.
1: How do you feel about facing Eddie Kingston in the first round?
“Eddie Kingston is an O.G. and I have watched him for a long time. I have a lot of respect for him. I know when we get in there, it is gonna be a fight, so that is what I am prepared for..”
2: If you had to choose an opponent to face in the finals, who would it be?
” In a perfect world, Mance Warner. We have a history at IWA-MS, and I think it would be a cool moment to have him in there with me..”
3: Besides yourself, who do you feel is the favorite to win this year?
“Again, Mance Warner is the guy. He has worked really hard to get to where he is, and if somehow I do not make it, he will win it all..”
4: What would it mean to you to come out on top of this year’s field?
“It would mean a lot. It was a major goal of mine to compete in the TPI. I accomplished that goal last year, but to win it, would be a whole other level.”
5: Any words for your fellow competitors?
“Yeah…be ready to fight.”
I want to thank Anthony for taking the time out of his busy schedule to answer these. Each and every person entering this tournament is going to be busting their asses to show the world what they’ve got and I’m happy that we can give you just the tiniest bit of insight to their thoughts coming in.
