5 Questions! Volume 52: Ted Petty Invitational Edition w/ Pat Monix
These next few additions of 5 Questions are going to be a little different. They are all going to be with some of the competitors of this years big IWA Mid-South Ted Petty Invitational. One of the biggest tournaments of the Independent Wrestling Calendar is coming to Indianapolis and I wanted to get in some of the heads of these guys before we get there.
The fourth of the competitors that we were able to speak to was the 24th and final entrant into the big event, Pat Monix. This is the first TPI for Pat and second time in our 5-Questions. His first TPI is not starting off easy because he has your current IWA Junior Heavyweight Champion Logan James in the first round. Let’s get Pat’s thoughts heading into the big event.
1: How do you feel about facing Logan James in the first round?
“It will be the match people talk about.”
2: If you had to choose an opponent to face in the finals, who would it be?
“If I had to choose, Eddie Kingston.”
3: Besides yourself, who do you feel is the favorite to win this year?
“The way I see it is, Mike Elgin is the champ. Larry D is the number 1 contender. If either of them get knocked off early I would be shocked as both have tons of momentum heading in. But like you said, “besides yourself”. I have every intention of outlasting all 23 competitors.”
4: What would it mean to you to come out on top of this year’s field?
5: Any words for your fellow competitors?
I want to thank Pat for taking the time out of his busy schedule to answer these. Each and every person entering this tournament is going to be busting their asses to show the world what they’ve got and I’m happy that we can give you just the tiniest bit of insight to their thoughts coming in.
